France to Chair the European Forum in 2027
It is with great pride that France is preparing to assume the Presidency of the European Forum in 2027. This will be a particularly significant year for our social insurance system, which will have the honour of participate with great interest in the network’s activities throughout the year. First and foremost, we would like to express our appreciation to the Polish Presidency, led by the Kasa Rolniczego Ubezpieczenia Społecznego (KRUS) in 2026, which successfully placed workers’ physical and mental health at the heart of European discussions. We warmly thank our Polish colleagues for the quality of their commitment and contribution.
Eighteen years after France last held the Presidency, we are delighted to renew our commitment to organising the Forum’s annual event and are pleased to invite our European counterparts to Paris from 2 to 4 June 2027.
European Forum Conference – 3 June 2027, Paris
From 2027 onwards, the European Forum will officially become the European Forum on Occupational Protection (EFOP). This new name better reflects the full scope of our shared mission: not only insuring against occupational risks, but also and above all preventing them.
Against this backdrop, we are pleased to invite you to the Forum’s annual conference, which will take place in Paris on 3 June 2027. The conference will focus on a subject of particular importance to us all: protecting vulnerable workers.
This choice is far from arbitrary. In practice, occupational accident statistics, even within the same industry, often conceal significant differences in exposure to risk depending on the groups concerned. We will therefore examine occupational accident insurance and prevention with a specific focus on young workers, temporary agency workers, newly recruited employees, older workers and other groups particularly affected by these issues.
We have observed that many Forum member countries have developed outstanding initiatives to address these challenges: safety education programs starting at school in Germany and Italy, dedicated organizations promoting the safety of temporary workers in Belgium and France, safe apprenticeship charters in Switzerland, and measures designed to support the continued employment of older workers in Denmark and Sweden, among others.
The Paris conference will therefore provide an opportunity to showcase and compare the many good practices developed for these groups, with a view to drawing shared lessons and building a common approach to prevention that is genuinely tailored to the diverse profiles of workers across Europe.
We would also be delighted to receive any suggestions for topics or speakers that could enrich the theme of our conference. Please send your proposals to EF.Paris2027@eurogip.fr.
We are actively preparing for this event, with the ambition of delivering a rich program featuring relevant contributions and practical experience from across Europe.
We very much look forward to seeing you all again in Paris next year!●
