European Forum 2026 Warsaw | Be Well: Keeping Up Physical and Mental Health
How can we maintain physical and mental health in a changing world of work? The 34th Conference of the European Forum of the Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases, which took place from the 17th to the 19th of June 2026 in Warsaw, Poland, emphasized the increasing role of the well-being at work and its role in occupational accidents and diseases.
In recent years, the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) has placed increasing emphasis on well‑being at work. Well‑being at work is influenced by many factors and plays an important role in preventing occupational accidents and diseases. It relates to body and mind, work-life balance, working with other people, with machines, different software systems, and increasingly interactive AI systems. Well-being at work is also about adapting to aging societies in Europe and preventing occupational accidents and diseases in people with special needs.
The European Forum Conference, organised by KRUS (Agricultural Social Insurance Fund) under the title «Be Well: Keeping Up Physical and Mental Health» addressed the issue of well-being at work. The event was organized through a collaboration of experts and institutions specializing in occupational safety, social security, and preventive healthcare.
Employee mental and physical health, professional well-being, and the creation of safe, supportive work environments were the key themes of the conference.
The event brought together representatives from public institutions, international organizations, expert communities, and practitioners from various countries to discuss current challenges and solutions for supporting employee health.
The conference demonstrated that the modern approach to well-being extends beyond the traditional understanding of occupational health and safety. Issues related to mental health, psychosocial risks, work organization, and the impact of technological changes on employees’ daily lives are becoming increasingly important.
The conference also showed that the modern approach to well-being extends beyond the traditional understanding of occupational health and safety. Issues related to mental health, psychosocial risks, work organization, and the impact of technological changes on employees’ daily functioning are gaining increasing importance.
A shared conclusion from the conference was the conviction that effectively supporting mental and physical health requires a multidimensional approach – combining prevention, education, responsible management, and institutional cooperation with the creation of a workplace culture rooted in safety and care for the individual.
The European Forum conference in Warsaw reaffirmed that prevention and accident insurance in Europe must constantly adapt to meet the demands of a changing world of work. Through collaboration, commitment, and the exchange of knowledge, the European Forum continues to actively improve the situation of workers across the continent. ●
